One of the recent projects I worked on involved fixing a critical issue on the Natural Pet Farm website during the Black Friday sale. The problem arose with the pricing system, where customers were receiving larger discounts than intended on subscriptions, which could negatively impact sales. This issue needed urgent attention to avoid further complications.

I worked alongside another developer, and we quickly divided the tasks based on our areas of expertise. I focused on the frontend, making the necessary code changes to fix the pricing display and ensure the discounts were calculated correctly. My colleague worked on the backend to adjust the logic that was causing the issue.

We maintained constant communication, collaborating efficiently to resolve the problem. By working together and dividing the tasks, we were able to fix the issue quickly, ensuring that the pricing was accurate and the Black Friday sale could continue without any more disruptions. Our teamwork and quick response were crucial to successfully resolving the issue in time

For me, success in the next five years is about building a life where I feel fulfilled both personally and professionally, while also making a meaningful impact on the people and projects I engage with. It’s about growing into the best version of myself and creating opportunities that align with my passions and strengths.

I’m passionate about advancing my career in software engineering, refining my problem-solving skills, and expanding my technical expertise. My perfect day would begin in the new world promised in Revelation 21:3. This verse, along with other biblical verses, promises a world with no death, no sickness, no injustice, and no crime. Living in such a world would be the best day of my life. We would witness the resurrection of humanity and have the chance to meet many people, including our relatives and those from the past.

It would be wonderful in the sense that we would have no fear, no boundaries to travel, and no fear of death.

Although it’s hard to imagine such a world today, these are the promises of the Bible, and I eagerly wait to see that day.

What did you do on the day of your last birthday? Tell us about your day from start to finish and how you celebrated.

For my last birthday, I was 16 years old, and it was the last time I celebrated. My family decided to throw a special party to mark the occasion, inviting close relatives and family friends to join in the celebration. It was a wonderful day filled with joy, laughter, and warmth. During the party, I received some amazing gifts, one of which was a piano, and I felt incredibly happy and grateful. I remember the feeling of excitement as I unwrapped it, and it was one of the best gifts I could have received. We spent the day enjoying delicious food, chatting with everyone, and having a great time together. Since then, I no longer celebrate birthdays, but I always look back with fondness on that special day and the memories created with my loved ones. It was truly a day to remember, and the happiness I felt in that moment still stays with me.

Please share at least one example of your work where you built a fully custom Shopify theme (please do NOT include work based on modifying an existing theme).

I have built fully custom Shopify themes for several clients, with one standout example being the Vitaboom website. For Vitaboom, I designed and developed a completely unique Shopify theme, including custom homepages, collection pages, and brand pages. The website features a distinct and tailored design that reflects the client's brand identity.

What is your experience working in software development teams? What was your role, size and structure of the teams?

I have extensive experience working in software development teams across multiple companies and projects, collaborating with various stakeholders.

At Eweberinc, I was part of a 6-member team, where I held multiple roles, including PHP developer, Shopify developer, and Scraper. I collaborated closely with frontend developers, QA testers, and designers to implement tasks effectively. Our team reported directly to the project manager or clients, ensuring seamless communication and project execution.

At Teknologics, I worked as the lead Shopify developer, reporting directly to the manager and clients. The team consisted of data entry staff, designers, and a marketing team. For more complex tasks, I collaborated with another Shopify developer, ensuring that we delivered high-quality solutions on time.

Recently, while working for a Pet Shop, the client required both speed optimization and the creation of new web pages under a strict deadline. To manage such situations effectively, two key factors played a critical role:

Developer Expertise: With years of experience in web development, I’ve honed my ability to quickly create web pages while ensuring quality. My expertise allows me to estimate the time required for tasks accurately and identify potential challenges early.
Clear Communication: I prioritize transparent communication with clients to set realistic expectations. If a task cannot be completed within the given timeframe, I proactively inform the client and propose solutions, such as involving additional developers to share the workload and meet deadlines.

By combining technical expertise with clear communication and planning, I successfully delivered the project on time without compromising quality, ensuring the client’s satisfaction and maintaining high standards.

Provide an example of a custom feature or functionality you developed from scratch. How did you approach the challenge, and what was the outcome?

One example of a custom feature I developed from scratch was for a client selling nut milk machines. This client, who launched their product on Shark Tank (video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4U1qSa2Fws), required a unique functionality on their Shopify store. They wanted customers to mix and match flavors with the machine during the initial order and allow only flavors to be included in subsequent subscription orders—integrated with Recharge.

This was a complex challenge because the standard Shopify and Recharge setups didn’t support such specific requirements. To address this:

Requirement Analysis: I carefully analyzed the business logic, ensuring the solution aligned with the client's goals and provided a seamless user experience.

Custom Development: I developed a custom integration between Shopify and Recharge that dynamically handled flavor selections for initial and recurring orders.

Testing and Optimization: After implementing the feature, I rigorously tested it to ensure functionality and edge-case handling before launch.

The outcome exceeded expectations. Recharge support was notably surprised by how this feature was implemented, as it extended their platform's capabilities in a novel way. The client was thrilled with the functionality, as it enhanced customer experience and met their business needs perfectly.

How do you typically collaborate with designers, content creators, or other team members during a web development project? Share an example of effective teamwork.

While working on a client project for an e-commerce website. The team included a designer, QA team, and myself as the developer.

The campaign had a tight two-week deadline, so effective teamwork was essential. We started with a kickoff meeting where the designer shared mockups, and I provided technical insights into feasibility and timelines. The designer and I worked closely to translate their creative vision into responsive designs while addressing technical constraints.

Using collaborative tools like Figma for design reviews and project management software like Asana, we tracked progress and shared feedback in real-time while QA team evaluating and testing the results. This prevented bottlenecks and ensured a smooth workflow.

Daily stand-ups helped address issues quickly. For example, when we encountered a challenge with integrating custom fonts, the designer provided alternatives while I optimized the code for compatibility.

We successfully launched the campaign on time, and the website received overwhelmingly positive feedback for its visuals, functionality, and engaging content.
